This was the very first series that I read which featured Highlanders. I only bought one of the books and all it took was one day before I was hooked and begging for more. I really enjoyed
this series and was a little hesitant at first about the time travelling theme but now I know that the books wouldn't have been so juicy and spectacular without it. What an amazing group of people. Each book was filled with action and intrigue and you could drown in the romance and sexual tension. Each couple faced their challenges with the stubbornness and audacity that you come to expect from your heroines and heroes. I love the whole concept of there being a tortured alpha male who has become hardened by life and the woman that finds him and eventually heals his heart. I never get tired of it and this series delivered that and then some. I love reading books where the women have spine and sass, who have no problem fighting for the man they love, even when it means fighting that man. The women of each book were strong and oftentimes defiant and it made the battles they had extremely entertaining. Of course a review wouldn't be a review without me mentioning the men in the books and I have just one word for you - ADDICTING. These men were in your face sexy, with brogues that would curl your toes. They were power personified and had me each night praying that when I opened my eyes the next morning, I'd have a Master of Time of my own. The author did such a good job creating these stories and of drawing me into the thick of it, emotions and all. She has the strong Alpha male down to a science and if I'm being honest, she had me so enthralled I refused to skim through the steamy parts because I wanted the full experience. She had me so hooked that it opened up the way for my Highlander obsession that is still going strong. These books are passionate to the core and I'll read them over and over again. Oh and just as a side note - my favorite book was Dark Lover. Ian Maclean was positively glorious!! He had me wanting to reach into the book to save him and aching to be the focus of his attentions. If you can read only one, this is the one I'd chose.
