What Kind Of Review Can You Expect?

If I could describe what kind of reader I am, I would hands down say I was an emotional one. When I read I want to fully experience the book, from the emotions coursing through the characters to reacting to the twist and turns of the storyline. I'm looking for those books that fire up my imagination and leave me breathless when it's over. It's for this reason why the reviews I write aren't so much what I think and are more on how I feel. My hopes in sharing my review in this way is that something will spark an interest and have you wanting to have the same experiences. This isn't to say I don't have issues with grammar, word choices etc. Trust me I do and most times all it takes is waiting for the story to grab hold for it not to matter. When I do include things about what I thought about the book (for example I've included comments about word choices and being too descriptive), I only do so because it directly affected how I felt. I hope this helps. Enjoy!

Succubus Revealed by Richelle Mead

Succubus Revealed
Richelle Mead
Georgina Kincaid series #6
Paranormal Romance

In Georgina Kincaid, succubus and she-demon, #1 New York Times bestselling author Richelle Mead has created one of her most enticing characters. But with a shot at love, and maybe even redemption, is the ultimate seductress finally going soft? Like hell she is. . .

Georgina Kincaid has had an eternity to figure out the opposite sex, but sometimes they still surprise her. Take Seth Mortensen. The man has risked his soul to become Georgina's boyfriend. Still, with Lucifer for a boss, Georgina can't just hang up her killer heels and settle down to domestic bliss. In fact, she's being forced to transfer operations. . .to Las Vegas.

The City of Sin is a dream gig for a succubus, but Georgina's allies are suspicious. Why are the powers-that-be so eager to get her away from Seattle—and from Seth? Georgina is one of Hell's most valuable assets, but if there's any way out of the succubus business she plans to take it—no matter how much roadkill she leaves behind. She just hopes the casualties won't include the one man she's risking everything for. . .

I love reading Richelle Mead and this series has definitely been one I've enjoyed. While I'm sad to see this end, what an amazing way to say goodbye to Georgina! This was a story I had a hard time putting down and thankfully I was on a road trip so I had extended periods of time where I could devour it. There were a few questions left hovering when I opened the book and I loved the way they were all answered. And yes, there was even a "OMGSH NO WAY!!" moment that I didn't see coming.

Poor Georgina has gone through so much and finally has the man she loves, Seth. There's some tough conditions to being together, especially with her being a succubus, but rationing out sex is worth it because she's finally happy. That is until her world falls apart with the sudden and very much a surprise transfer slip that's delivered. With no explanation, she must leave behind everyone and move on to Las Vegas and it breaks her heart knowing that Seth may not be able to follow. Luckily, Roman smells a conspiracy and for the rest of the book, the truth slowly unfolds - the lies, secret agendas and colossal mistake by Hell. The storyline really sucks you in as you hope and pray Georgina comes out on top. You want her to win, to keep Seth and to have the happily ever after!

One thing I noticed was this book was really light on the sex part, her role as an active succubus pushed aside to focus on the conspiracy part of the story. Even the "creative" ways she's intimate with Seth are light and I'll admit, I missed that element. Being a sexual being, her nature was pushed aside for a more angsty one but it made sense with everything she was going through. I just would've liked to see more.

There were definitely some goose bump and tear inducing moments through the book - things about Carter being revealed and his role in everything, the willingness to sacrifice everything for Georgina happiness by Roman and the pain of betrayal felt by Seth. Yeah, that shocked the heck out of me but man it was powerful to read as it unfolded. I couldn't imagine what it must have felt like to go through and my heart broke for him!

All in all, it was a great way to finish the series and makes it a definite must read. I was left feeling satisfied and ready to move on to something new. Thank goodness the author has a new series started I can dive into! Happy reading!

Oh my god, I know, it was incredible and such a great ending for Georgina. I did notice that it seemed way light on the sex (which was strange because all the other books had atleast 3 or 4 scenes) but I think the rest of the story kind of made up for it. And Carter!!! That was epic.
