I don't even know where to begin in reviewing this book. I've been a huge fan of Lacey Weatherford's from the moment I read her amazing Of Witches & Warlocks series, and when she announced she was releasing a new book, I was excited to see what she'd do. Chasing Nikki, her first YA contemporary romance story, is NOTHING short of a masterpiece!
I'm the kind of reader who wants to be swept up into a story and connect with the characters. I want to FEEL something and close the book with the experience that I'd been on a journey. Holy cow! This book had me right from the beginning and dragged my tender beating heart right through to the stunning end. I felt every emotion possible - pain and understanding with Chase as he struggled to keep his life together, laughter over the antics he pulled to impress the girl, swooning over the tender moments, and anguish for the trials he had to face. This book is the TOTAL PACKAGE ... you honestly don't get any better than this because it is beautifully written with the kind of detail that makes you BELIEVE in the characters. You want to pull Chase and Nikki from the books and hug them.
I could gush about this book for hours, but I'll sum up everything you need to know about this book right here - do whatever you need to do so you can sit UNINTERRUPTED and devour this book. Chase Walker is incredible. This story is AMAZING, POWERFUL, and something that will tug so hard on your heartstrings, you will walk away CHANGED for the better. You OWE it to yourself to read this book.
